Update from State Rep. Anna Moeller

As the leaves fall and the nights grow longer, I’m greeting you with a spooktacular update. The end of October is here, bringing with it a chill in the wind, but my office’s activity has just begun to warm up as Veto Session approaches and we prepare for a season of holidays.
If you ever have any questions, concerns or requests for assistance please do not hesitate to contact my office at staterepmoeller@gmail.com or 847-841-7130. It is an honor to represent you in Springfield and my staff and I look forward to serving you.

Warm regards,

Out and About in the Community

Advancing Workforce Training and Economic Development

On September 19th, I joined several arealeaders at a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating an exciting new development in Elgin: the construction of Elgin Community College’s brand new Manufacturing and Technology Center.

This Manufacturing and Technology Center will provide students with new opportunities and help our region invest in our future workforce and emerging technologies. State-of-the-art and over 150,000 square feet, this center will help address workforce shortages in the area, combat long waitlists and crowded classrooms, and provide area students with a valuable education.

I am incredibly proud to have helped secure $28.5 million in state appropriations for this $85 million project.

Honored as a Champion for Older Adults

On September 25th, I had the privilege of joining the Coalition of Limited Speaking Elderly (CLESE) at their Annual Meeting, where I was deeply honored to receive their Champion of Older Adults Award.

This recognition reinforces my commitment to working alongside incredible organizations like CLESE and ensuring that older adults receive the support and services they deserve. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue advocating for our aging community!

September Shred Fest

On September 28th, my office joined Senator Cristina Castro’s office and the Kane County Teacher’s Credit Union for another successful shred day. We love bringing this event to residents in the community to help them securely shred their sensitive documents and protect against identity theft. Thank you to all who attended!

Legislator of the Year

On October 3rd, I was honored to receive the Metropolitan Township Association’s Legislator of the Year award. I am always happy to partner and collaborate with local townships to meet the needs of area residents,  provide senior programs, veteran assistance, affordable housing, and improve infrastructure.

Investing in Community

On October 4th, I joined local leaders to kick off the expansion of Elgin’s Sports Complex. With three new fields, a walking path, and park space, this expansion will bring new recreation opportunities to the community and help connect the existing complex to Route 31.

Property Tax Seminar

On October 16th, our office partnered with the Cook County Assessor’s Office and Hanover Township to bring residents a property tax seminar to explain property tax assessments and the assessment appeals process. The session was well-attended, and attendees were able to ask pressing questions about their taxes.

Supporting Youth

My office hosted its Second Annual Youth Fair at the Gail Borden Library on October 16th. We invited community partners and Illinois Departments that serve your young people aged 11 to 18, providing families with information on after-school programs, volunteer opportunities, mental health resources, and extracurriculars.

Funding Public Safety

On October 26th, I was pleased to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new, state-of-the-art fire station in Hoffman Estates. Renovating and refurbishing outdated Fire Stations #21 and #22 will cost approximately $25 million. These new efficient and advanced stations will better serve the safety needs of the community.
