Fall 2022 Newsletter:

I hope you and your family are doing well and are enjoying these last beautiful days of summer. My office has been busy meeting with constituents and participating in community events this season. Below is an update on what we’ve been up to and upcoming events that we are hosting this Fall. Check out information on our upcoming Job Fair on September 8th at Elgin Community College, Shred Day on September 24th in Carpentersville, and Pet Adoption Event on October 1st at Wing Park. All events are free and open to the public.

I hope to see you at an event soon!

This summer, we had three interns serve in our district office. Marium, Jada and Delfina, local high school and college students, are intelligent and talented young people who spent their days
working in the community and learning about the State of Illinois, the communities in the 43rd District, and public service. If you know a student who would be interested in working as an intern in our office, please encourage them to apply. They can learn more by sending an email to our office at staterepmoeller@gmail.com. We offer paid, flexible hours all year round. Internships are a great opportunity to work and gain hands-on experience in government and public service.
Over the summer, I have been going door-to-door to have conversations with members of our community and deliver constituent surveys. It has been a pleasure to meet constituents at their door and talk about the issues on people’s minds.
If you ever have any questions, concerns or requests for assistance please do not hesitate to contact my office at staterepmoeller@gmail.com or 847-841-7130. It is an honor to represent you in Springfield and my staff and I look forward to serving you.

Warmest Regards,

Anna

8th Annual Senior Fair

On August 6th, I held my 8th annual Senior Fair at the Dundee Township Adult Activity Center. The event connects local seniors with health, safety, and other resources. We had twenty great vendors at the event providing information and assistance, including: Citizens Utility Board, ComEd, Pace Suburban Bus, AARP, Ascension, Oak Street Health, Greater Family Health Center, Centro de
Informacion, Right At Home, Fox River Valley Public Library District, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, the Illinois Treasurer’s Office, Dundee Township, Kane County 211, Carpentersville Police Department., Carpentersville Fire Department, State of Illinois Longer Term Care Ombudsman and Senior Services Associates, Inc. I look forward to hosting this event every year and meeting with everyone who attends.

Reproductive Healthcare Working Group

In light of the Supreme Court Decision overturning Roe v Wade, House Speaker Chris Welch created a working group to focus on protecting and increasing access to reproductive healthcare.  As a member of the working group, we will be working throughout the Fall to address this issue.

Out In The Community

Honoring those who serve our community

Our school board members are volunteers who work diligently to provide a high quality education to our students. On August 23rd, I presented the District 300 School Board and Superintendent Harkin with Certificates of Recognition from the Illinois House of Representatives. I was pleased to recognize their service and hard work during the pandemic in consideration of the unforeseen hardships they endured in their service to the public. I will be presenting similar certificates to U-46 board members this month.

City of Elgin New Citizen Ceremony

I was pleased to once again participate in the annual New Citizens Recognition Ceremony at the City of Elgin on July 26th. It was a joyful event and an honor to help welcome 45 new U.S. citizens to the Elgin community.

National Night Out

On August 2nd, my office joined several community organizations for another successful National Night Out block party hosted by the Elgin Police Department. Hundreds of neighbors attended to enjoy the festivities. My office was happy to provide information on state resources as well as coloring books

for kids to help teach them a little about Illinois history. It was great to meet with and connect with so many friends and neighbors. Thank you to ROPE Officer Alva and the Elgin Police Department for their efforts in organizing the event. We are looking forward to participating again next year.

Hanover Landing 🏗️

Elgin and Hanover Township will soon have a 40-unit Permanent Supportive Housing Complex for residents living with mental health challenges, disabilities or experiencing homelessness—all of whom will live independently and receive the services they need from the Ecker Center and

other agencies. You can click here for a Daily Herald article regarding the project.

Downtown Elgin Farmers Market 🥕

My office and I will be at the September 9th Farmer’s Market in Downtown Elgin. We’d love to see you there!
